New construction high decorative casino in the Boston, MA, area.

As an Architectural Designer at Crystal Steel Fabricators, Inc., I was given the task to reverse engineer the statement piece spiral staircase. It required dividing it into sections so that it could be hoisted inside the existing building structure through the window, and on-site welding without any surface grinding. The stair in it’s entirety is made of carbon steel with a raw blackened finish done on-site.

My Roles:
3D Model each component, created sub-assemblies, and a final assembly of all parts for fabrication in 1:1 scale with Autodesk Inventor.
Maintain daily communication with Project Manager, Shop Manager, and Sub-contractors using Procore Construction Management software.
Coordinated with Project Manager where to source steel materials and source 3rd party curving capabilities at full height of 18’-10”.
Drafted mock-up drawings and coordinated mock-ups with the shop.
Drafted single part drawings and cut files in AutoCAD for fabrication.
Drafted assembly drawings for welding.
Drafted the erection drawings for erection.
Worked with the Project Manager to meet drafting, fabrication, and install deadlines.
